Here are some small photos for the time being that show you some of my designs through the years.
This fabulous rhea egg design below was in a design class that I took from an internationally known egg art teacher, Joan Huff. She gave us the basic pattern, and then we had to design all of the small eggs inside this cabinet in addition to cutting, painting and decorating the rhea egg. It remains on my list of my all time favorite eggs.
The rhea egg cabinet has  filigree cut front double doors; when the doors are opened a light comes on in the back of the cabinet and each shelf features a display of small to tiny eggs each decorated uniquely. These are quail eggs, parakeet eggs, zebra finch eggs and a snail egg. It you look closely one of the quail has a pale blue zebra finch egg inside which turns around. I painted a very tiny Eastern bluebird (my other passion) in flight carrying a minute paper flower attached to a one ply gold cord.

This combination of eggs: ostrich, emu, 4 goose eggs, and a quail egg are combined with a musical mechanism, chandeliers that light up;3 gowned dolls in each "box office seat" and 3 twirling ballerinas dance on the stage create what I named Late Night at the Atlanta Ballet.

This evening bag features swirls in golden orange and golden brown; each swirl is outlined in black diamond Swarovski crystal chain and features a shoulder length gold serpentine strap. Elegantly adorning the magnetic closure is a vintage Swarovski hyacinth sunburst crystal surrounded by antique gold braid and bead cord.

This beautiful 12 division evening bag was inspired by a jewel box design by my friend and fellow Eggart Guild of GA member Luanne Faulkender. This too is a shoulder length serpentine strap evening bag done in multiple colors in each division while the lower part is Prussian blue hue with a faux finish wash of rich gold, Jo Sonja paints.

The cobalt blue egg below is a study from another renowned egg art dealer/teacher/designer, Sally LeVan of Egg Decor, who always reminds me of all of that physics I studied many years ago. This rhea egg  features 4 drop down doors or gates which drop down by pulling on the beads at the base of each gate attached to the hinge. When the gates drops down they reveal the rich gold  overlaid goose egg which has three inverted ovals with different flowers embellished on each inverted piece. By pulling down on the suspended crystal bead the gates are lifted back to the closed position. The egg is shown here partially closed; eventually I will add a photo of it open.
